Rapid Outdoor Non-Compression Intubation (RONCI) of cardiac arrests to mitigate COVID-19 exposure to emergency department staff

A novel intubation strategy for cardiac arrests during the COVID-19 pandemic.

I am excited to announce the publication of an article that I and my good friend Dr. Rich Slama have been working on for the last couple of months. The American Journal of Emergency Medicine (AJEM) has published the pre-proof online ahead of print, I have linked the article below (just click the picture of the article). While the COVID-19 pandemic seems to be winding down currently, we are unsure of whether there will be additional waves of the pandemic, and should be prepared for the worst as resuscitationists. This intubation technique is a novel approach that offers additional protection to Emergency Department staff while still providing standard of care resuscitation in cardiac arrests. Enjoy the read!
